Leslie Lyall has been on
assignment with the Christchurch City Council, working on a variety of
complex capital works initiatives in both the Project and Programme
Manager roles.
-
Leslie’s work on the CCC Pumping and
Headworks initiative involves a programme of some forty active
projects.
-
These projects included individual pump
replacements as well as the installation of a new pump station,
with the removal of 14 underground fuel tanks and the replacing of above
ground tanks at these sites. This programme of work was
heavily reliant on good and positive communications with the residents
of Christchurch. On occasion Leslie was accountable for a degree of
community interfacing, especially when it came to resident concerns.
-
Leslie
also completed an investigation and recommendation to the treatment
of unstable land conditions that are currently threatening a major
thoroughfare and historical site on the coastline of Christchurch.
Leslie maintained tender processes, including scope,
timing and budgeting for maintenance on Christchurch’s largest water
reservoir, and the design and build of a new reservoir to meet the
demands of a new Port Hills subdivision.
-
Other significant project work has been for
the Christchurch Waste Water Treatment Plant. Leslie managed the supply
and installation of an odour containment system and the repair of
concrete surfaces of five grit tanks and associated channels as a result
of H2S corrosion, involving tender preparation and contract
administration. Another project also scoped and progressed the
re-cladding and insulating of four digesters where the original cladding
had started failing. This also involved tender preparation,
evaluation and contract awarding.
